Look what WE did! Dragon Beads with Mary Lockwood 2013

Needless to say, the Dragon Beads took time and concentration!  With 9 torches and burners going, it was pretty warm in the studio!  But all had fun, learned many techniques that Mary shared with all, and her patient and confident style was appreciated by all!  She is a very talented lampworking artist!  Thank you Mary, Come again to Graceful Customs!

Holly Cooper, Lampworker Glass Bead Artist, Class Sept.7 & 8, 2013

Holly Cooper will once again be here for a new 2 -day class on Surfaces & textures.  Here is her description of what she will be teaching:
"we will open ourselves to the exploration of a variety of special materials and techniques which I have developed in my own work over the last decade. We'll explore the use of enamels, metal leaf, texture and patina, flame chemistry, special properties of certain colors and other unique techniques. All of this is done to stimulate the imagination and generate new ideas by experimenting with technique and inspiration.
There will be plenty of personal attention with much time to practice and explore. Questions and discussions are encouraged." Lapidary Class March 16, 2013

Once again, Jim and Jennifer will be here to teach lapidary techniques using rough and pre-shaped stones!  We will have all our equipment set up, all materials included!  If you have experience, you can use our equipment for your stones for $15.00 hr. and one of the instructor will be available for assistance as time allows in the class.   Class is $75.00, starts at 10:00 am and ends at 4:00 pm.  .  You will learn how to select, shape and polish a rough stone into a finished, polished cabachon to make into a necklace or bracelet or ring!  e-mail Grace@gracefulcustoms.com  or the instructors at: zig888@comcast.net

Wire-Wrapping class with Jennifer, Feb.23,2013

On Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, 10 am. to 4:00 pm., Jennifer Lee will be here to teach a basic wire-wrapping class.  The cost is $75 and practice wire will be provided.  You may bring your own stone cabachon or we will provide you with one.  You will take home a completed wire-wrapped pendant.  Written instructions are provided, a small class size is planned. Whew! Stringer control!

Well, Holly Cooper was here last weekend; we all thoroughly enjoyed her visit and learned new techniques!  We all found her a great instructor, clear, concise, patient, and extremely talented in her work.  Her handouts had detailed drawings (she is a graphic artist by day) and easy to understand!    We were happy to also welcome 2 new students to our Studio.  Great work Ladies!  Holly agreed to return next year, we are looking at her calendar!  Thanks Holly, hope you enjoyed our home and Studio!
